5/1 – ORTON TEACHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP – FALL SEMESTER
- Established to honor a long time Washington County educator and his wife, the Rulon D Orton and LaPrele Gubler Orton Education Scholarship awards $1000 scholarships to elementary education majors. Candidates must be UT students in good standing with a 3.0 GPA and accepted into the Elementary Education Program prior to making application. Students must have “Financial Need” as determined by FAFSA. A short essay must be submitted with your application, applications submitted without an essay will not be considered. Preference is given to Non-Traditional students, and those seeking an Elementary Education – Arts endorsement. Applicants will be considered for additional awards each year they meet the qualifications.

5/10 – T.H. BELL SCHOLARSHIP– FALL SEMESTER
- All applicants must be classified as a “Resident” of Utah. Any student who has successfully completed at least 30 Utah Tech University credits is eligible to apply. This scholarship can only be awarded to students who declare intent to complete the prescribed course of instruction required for a teaching certificate.

- Upon successful completion of a term of service, members are eligible to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. These awards are about $1,380, which may be used to pay current college costs or to repay student loans.

College of Fine Arts (Talent)
All students are invited to apply for scholarships in talent-based programs. Utah Tech University has an excellent Fine Arts Department, offering outstanding instruction in the performing arts. Most applicants are required to interview and/or attend tryouts in order to receive a talent scholarship. The Talent Scholarship Application form must be filled out online.

- Scholarships are awarded to full-time, undergraduate nursing students with financial need. Applicants must complete a FAFSA application to be considered. Recipients will be selected by the Nursing Department.
6/1 – INTERMOUNTAIN HEALTHCARE NURSING DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP – FALL SEMESTER
- The Intermountain Healthcare St George Regional Medical Center – Utah Tech University Nursing Diversity Scholarship supports the mission and core values of both organizations by encouraging a diverse workforce, which will be more responsive to the varied cultural/ethnic beliefs and practices of patients and their families. The scholarship will be awarded to students of diversity in ethnicity accepted into or currently enrolled in any of the UT Nursing Programs who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Ethnic diversity is defined according to categories currently used by UT: Asian, Hispanic, Black, Native American, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, or 2 or more races. Additional points may be given to applicants with bilingual skills and foreign language fluency. Intent to work as a registered nurse in Utah is strongly preferred, although not required for the scholarship. Each applicant will submit a brief personal statement describing his or her ethnic diversity. Intermountain Healthcare and Utah Tech University will invite the successful applicant(s) to join in our outreach efforts to diverse communities a few times during the calendar year. Applicants must be a US Citizen or an eligible non-citizen with valid evidence of permanent residency in the United States.

- These scholarships are awarded to students who work on the Sun News staff as editors, writers, reporters, designers and photographers, creating content for print, broadcast and online media. - These scholarships are awarded to students who will work in local broadcast/live stream functions for the Community Education Channel, Utah Tech’s on-campus TV Station. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 overall GPA and maintain a 12-credit course load each semester. These positions require 10-20 hours of work per week outside of class. Freshmen through Seniors are welcome to apply. Experience in camera operation, video editing and other aspects of TV/video production is preferred but not required. Scholarship amounts vary by position/workload.

College of Science, Engineering & Technology
3/31 – INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP – FALL SEMESTER
- The INSPIRE Scholarship is designed to support STEM majors that are Pell eligible. This scholarship will cover unmet financial need for students (on average $4800/year) for two full years (total average award of $9600). Participants will need attend weekly study hall, meet regularly with an assigned mentor, and participate in multi-semester research and prototyping course series called the Innovative Solutions Course series. This course series will consist of three 1-credit lab-based courses. This courses series will immerse students in a multidisciplinary research project, training them for future careers that increasingly require interdisciplinary collaboration. Within the course, students will form interdisciplinary teams of different STEM disciplines, and be trained in research methods, modern prototyping techniques, and technology startup fundamentals. Students will solve modern real-world interdisciplinary challenges within the courses, and students can advance their solutions through either scholarly research or entrepreneurship at the completion of the program. These courses will run the first three semesters of the program, and meet on Friday’s from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. To be eligible, you must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA, be Pell eligible, and have at least two years of school before graduation.

- This scholarship is for a female with a declared major in any College of Science, Engineering or Technology field. Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in her Junior or Senior year.
5/1 – WANDA & DALE BARTON MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIP – FALL SEMESTER
- This scholarship is for students entering their Junior or Senior year with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has completed Multivariable Calculus (MATH 2210). Applicants must be a Mathematics Major, or a Math & Computational Mathematics Major with an emphasis in Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or Scientific Computing.
