Scholarship Opportunities

These opportunities are available for spring semester, but many depend on positions and funding remaining from fall awarding.

Student Ambassador Program

The Ambassador Scholarship is awarded bi-annually to incoming freshmen, transfer, and current students. While on scholarship, ambassadors are asked to participate in a variety of recruitment events including high school visits, Utah Tech Previews, campus tours, and other recruitment programs.

Utah Tech University Student Association (UTSA)

UTSA provides scholarships to students who want to join the student government team with 39 stipend positions over 6 branches. The mission of UTSA is to be an advocate for all current students and aims to foster school spirit and create unity.

Utah Tech University Staff Association

Utah Tech Staff Association offers a $600 scholarship each semester to a current part-time staff employee who is pursuing higher education here at UT. The primary purpose of the Utah Tech University Staff Association is to foster a harmonious and cooperative relationship between administration, faculty,  staff members, and students. We invite all qualified employees to apply for this opportunity.

Brad Stapley Memorial Scholarship - SPRING ONLY -- Pre-Med, Chemistry or Pre-Pharmacy -- NEW

The Brad Stapley Memorial Scholarship awards to Juniors or Seniors majoring in Pre-Med, Chemistry, or Pre-Pharmacy. Students must have at least a 3.5 overall GPA to apply.

Dixie Legacy Scholarship

The Dixie Legacy Scholarship is for students who are a child, spouse, sibling, grandchild, great-grandchild, niece or nephew of a Dixie/Utah Tech Alum. These awards are one-year scholarships based on academic merit, financial need, and legacy status. This scholarship, when used in conjunction with any other scholarship offered through Utah Tech cannot exceed cost of Tuition and Fees. Can be used for any semester.

Single Parent Scholarship

Applicants must be custodial single parents attending DSU at least 6 credits per semester in an eligible program. Applicants must show financial need and single parent status through FAFSA. Current students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, incoming freshmen will be evaluated on Admissions Index.

Fine Arts Scholarships

All students are invited to apply for scholarships in talent-based programs. Utah Tech University has an excellent Fine Arts Department, offering outstanding instruction in the performing arts. Most applicants are required to interview and/or attend tryouts in order to receive a talent scholarship. The Talent Scholarship Application form must be filled out online.

Application Deadlines vary by Department. Please contact the Department Representative for specific information regarding a particular scholarship program.

Gregerson English Scholarship

The Gregerson Scholarship awards $350 to an English Major with a 3.65 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to students who are engaged in the department or discipline beyond coursework.

The Laidlaw Scholarship awards $750 to an English Major with a 3.0 GPA or higher who demonstrates academic tenacity, grit, or a growth mindset

Sun News Journalism Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who work on the Sun News staff as editors, writers, reporters, designers and photographers, creating content for print, broadcast and online media. Scholarship amounts vary by position. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 12-credit course load each semester. These scholarships require up to 18 hours of work a week outside of class and require registering for courses. Freshmen through seniors are welcome to apply. Some positions do open throughout the year. Additional Information and Application are available below:

Radio Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who work at KXDS 91.3, the Utah Tech University radio station. Scholarship amounts vary by position. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 12-credit course load each semester. These scholarships require up to 18 hours of work a week outside of class and require registering for courses. Freshmen through seniors are welcome to apply.

CEC TV Sports Production Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who work in local sports broadcast functions for the Community Education Channel. Scholarship amounts may vary by position. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 12-credit course load each semester. These scholarships require up to 18 hours of work a week outside of class and require registering for courses. All students regardless of class standing and major are welcome to apply. However, experience in non-linear video editing and other aspects of television production is preferred.

Application

AmeriCorps Educational Awards Program

Upon successful completion of a term of service in an eligible program, members are eligible to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. These awards range from $1,000 to $4,000 which may be used to pay current college costs or to repay student loans.

Veterans Scholarships

The Veterans Office has various scholarships and benefits that can be used for spring semester. These include Yellow Ribbon Matching Military Waiver, Veterans Tuition GAP, National Guard Waiver, Purple Heart Waiver, and others.
